Expressway accident: Two more dead
The death toll in the accident that took place on the Greater Noida Expressway on Sunday has increased to five,after two more persons succumbing to their injuries on Tuesday. Police sources said one of the victims,Desh Raj,died while he was being transferred to the Holy Family Hospital in Delhi. Ramwati,another victim,also succumbed to her injuries while being transferred. A doctor at Sharda Hospital said they didn’t have the required number of ventilators,so the patients were referred to Delhi hospitals. Three persons died on Sunday when a Tata 407 and Honda City collided on the expressway.

Prison for auditors who sought bribe
A city court has sentenced two former auditors of the Sales Tax department to two-and-half-years in prison for seeking a bribe from a businessman seven years ago. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on the then senior auditor Girwar Singh and Rs 30,000 on the then assistant auditor Lala Ram,after holding them guilty under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

SI summoned for hitting lawyer
A city court has summoned a Delhi Police sub-inspector for allegedly roughing up an advocate and threatening him with dire consequences for pursuing a criminal case against him. Taking cognizance of a complaint filed by advocate Anil Kumar Gupta,the court asked SI Surender Kumar Yadav to appear before it on June 8. As per the lawyer,Yadav,enraged by him pursuing a criminal case against him,had on April 7 last year slapped him and snatched his court file from him in the Tis Hazari court complex.
