India made its presence felt at Cannes on day one albeit in a tad insipid manner. The opening film at the festival, Grace of Monaco, has been co-produced by Yash Raj Film’s international arm YRF Entertainment. This brought the production house head and Chopra family scion, Uday Chopra, on the Cannes red carpet on Wednesday. He was joined by the film’s leading lady Nicole Kidman, director Olivier Dahan and actor Tim Roth among others. For his Cannes debut, at the photocall, Uday made a fashion faux pax, choosing to wear his light blue shirt out with a nondescript brown suit. His second appearance was better when he dressed in a tuxedo for the premiere night. The actor-filmmaker, who is regularly at the receiving end of jibes, may have been prepared for such feedback, but we doubt he expected poor, even nasty reviews for the film.
