A Dalit constable, posted in Masoorie police station of Ghaziabad district, has alleged that his station house officer discriminated against him, using caste-based abusive language.
In a written complaint, filed yesterday,to the Ghaziabad-Rural SP,the complainant Rajpal Singh alleged that the caste-based abuses by SHO Shreedhar Mishra have continued against him despite his repeated complaints and objections.
I had even complained against my SHO to CO Sadar. However,no action was taken against him. They called me names and harassed me when I was on night duty just because I belong to the scheduled caste, he stated in the complaint.
The complainant faced another round of verbal abuse when the SHO and a sub-inspector,Ajay Pal Singh, posted at the police station allegedly abused him, claiming he had lost a case diary. The two senior officers allegedly made him squat in front of the police station and asked him to hold his ears.

I was made to squat in front of a pehra who guards the police station, which was humiliating, said the complaint. SP Rural A K Asthana said the police was investigating the matter. We will not allow any kind of abuse in the police force and anyone found to be indulging in it will be severely dealt with, SP Rural added.
SHO Mishra has been given orders to vacate the post and has been transferred to police lines. His name is in the list of police officers who have been transferred today from their respective posts, confirmed Asthana.
The complainant had asked SP Rurals permission to approach DGP and Chief Minister Mayawati if justice was not done.
