On a day when the Supreme Court provided relief to the Anil Ambani-backed BSES discoms and asked the NTPC not to snap supplies to them, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal upped his attack on the two discoms and called them “thieves”.
While praising Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (TPDDL), Kejriwal took on the BSES companies: “Anil Ambani ki companies chori bhi karti hai, seena zori bhi karti hai. Kehte hain hum bijli kaat denge… Aankh dikhaoge toh Dilli se bhaga denge, doosri companies le aayenge (Anil Ambani’s companies first steal and then are brazen about it. They say they will cut power… If you try to act tough, we will chase you out of Delhi and bring in other companies).”
He said the BSES discoms were deliberately not paying dues to the NTPC and creating a situation so that the AAP government would be blamed for power cuts. “…Anil Ambani’s companies are only interested in defaming the new government.”
BSES declined comment on the chief minister’s remarks.
