The South Municipal Corporation has decided to shelve a pilot project in which garbage disposal in Dwarka colonies were outsourced to a private company.
Rajesh Gehlot,North Standing Committee Chairperson, said the decision was taken following complaints the private agency hasnt been collecting and disposing of houshold garbage over the past one year.
The corporation would engage its Department of Environment Management Services (DEMS) to do the task of garbage collection and disposal,Gehlot said.
We do not want the system to collapse immediately. So,we have asked DEMS to take charge. We have received several complaints against the private party, he said.
The pilot project was started because of allegations that DEMS employees were not properly carrying out their duties.
