Joon takes AI to victory

Deepak Joon scored a handy half century and along with Mohammed Kaif helped Air India chase down the target set by FCI in the final of the DDCA Super League played at the Feroz Shah Kotla. FCI batting first posted 213 runs in their allotted 40 overs with Chetan Sharma hitting a stroke filled 98. Umang Sharma gave him company with a measured 63. Sachin Rana picked up four wickets for Air India. Air India with the help of Joon and Kaif’s partnership chased down the score with two balls to spare.

Saini elected DBA president

The elections for the general council of the Delhi Basketball Association were held on Sunday,July 1. Dr. D Saini was elected as president while Roopam Sharma was elected to the post of honorary secretary. A new face,Rajesh Kumar who is the coach of the Modern School basketball team was elected as the honorary joint secretary of the Delhi Basketball Association. Kumar has been a member of the organizing committee for the Senior National Basketball Championships and also for the Mahindra NBA Challenge League.
