BJP poll candidate gets bail in party worker’s murder case

New Delhi:A Delhi court on Friday granted interim bail till April 17 to Madhav Prasad,a BJP councillor arrested for allegedly instigating his supporters to knife a party worker to death. Jai Prakash,37,a painting contractor,was killed Tuesday Prasad’s supporters at the Azadpur railway station. Prasad was granted interim bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000 due to Sunday’s civic elections. Virender Yadav,the complainant,opposed the interim relief.

Green Tribunal move unfair: NEA

NOIDA:A day after the National Green Tribunal stated that no fresh environmental clearance to new industrial units will be granted without its consent,the Noida Entrepreneurs Association has written a letter to the Environment ministry expressing its disappointment. The NEA said,“There are several industries which pollute very little. According to Regional Pollution Control Board data,while pollution has increased,the reason is the rise in vehicular pollution. It is unfair to stop the expansion of the industrial sector,and we request you to take appropriate action.”

Release ‘rescued’ sex workers: HC

New Delhi:Asserting their right to live at a place of their choice,the Delhi High Court on Friday directed the police and the Delhi government to immediately release 15 Andhra Pradesh women,“rescued” from a red light area and lodged in a rehabilitation home. Taking on record their opposition to go back to Andhra,the court set aside a trial court’s order granting their transit remand to Andhra Pradesh police and ordered their release.
