21-yr-old murdered after fight over curd
New Delhi: A 21-year-old man was killed in Samairpur Badli in Northwest Delhi over an argument on buying curd. The incident occurred around 9.30 pm when the victim,Mukesh Kumar,along with his 17-year-old nephew,Rahul,went to a grocery shop. Once there,they chanced upon Naval Kishore (19),an ITI student,and Nitin Aggarwal,a mobile shop owner. Chhaya Sharma,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer),said: Kishore asked the shopkeeper for curd. When the shopkeeper enquired about the quantity,Kishore retorted that he wanted everything he had in the outlet. An argument broke out,and Mukesh intervened. This irked Aggarwal and Kishore,who stabbed Mukesh with a screwdriver. Kishore and Aggarwal were arrested and Mukesh was rushed to the Ambedkar Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
13-year-old raped in South Delhi
New Delhi: A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in South Delhi,police said on Wednesday. The incident occurred at Sanjay Colony in Neb Sarai on Tuesday night,when the victim came out of her house. The incident came to light after the girl informed her parents about it. She was taken to AIIMS,where a medical examination confirmed the rape.
MCD seals four commercial units
New Delhi: The sealing squad of MCD (Central Zone) has sealed four commercial units,including a jewellery shop and the office of a non-governmental organisation,for alleged non-payment of conversion charges within the stipulated timeframe. The civic body carried out the sealing drive on notified roads in Lajpat Nagar,an officer said.
MCD gets clearance for parking sites
New De3lhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has received clearance from the Traffic Police for running 60 parking sites. The MCD had,in the past,sent a list of 200-odd parking lots to the traffic police,out of which 35 were approved. As many as 25 additional sites were also approved by them. The 35 parking lots have already been tendered,and will be made operational soon. Tenders for the 25 new parking lots will be invited in a few days, said a senior MCD official.
