The exhaustive election campaign over two months, public meetings, padyatras and rallies were like scoring hundreds of runs on the cricket pitch for former ace cricketer and BJP’s East Delhi candidate Chetan Chauhan.

Satisfied with his campaign and the response of voters,Chauhan on Saturday went to a naturopathy centre at the Jain Mandir in Sarai Kale Khan for a body massage for almost three-and-a-half hours. “I was tired. The massage was so relaxing that I now feel like going on campaigning all over again,” he said.

With an aim to register a 10,000 vote win over his opponent Sandeep Dikshit,Chauhan, however, missed out on the IPL (Indian Premier League) matches for over a month. He could not watch TV today either,as all his family members and relatives trooped in to meet him.

“I will be watching IPL matches from May 12. I didn’t get time. But I want Delhi Daredevils to win the Season 2 of IPL because they are playing well. Secondly,Delhi is my personal favourite.”

The former Indian opener spent the whole day with his

15-year-old son,Vinayak, and playing cards with relatives and family members. In between,he squeezed discussions with party workers.

“We got a good response from every polling booth and I am sure that I am going to win. We had a meeting analysing the polls,” he added.

All through the day,TV channels kept on knocking at his door for an interview. He obliged them all. It’s too early for Chauhan

to relax.

Tomorrow,he has to leave for campaigning at four seats —Moradabad,Chambal,Amroha and Bijnore.
