What’s in a name?
Telly actor Karan Mehra rues his name. There is another actor by the same name in the telly world and as one would expect, confusion is bound to arise especially when one happens to be in the same industry. Incidentally, both the Karans are Punjabi and are originally from Delhi. What’s even more interesting is that their fathers were college mates and know each other. Apparently both the Karans have now swapped roles, which is creating a lot of bewilderment in the commercials and TV arena. Earlier, one was focusing on commercials and the other was primarily focusing on TV. But now that they’re both in TV,confusion has resulted. Our suggestion to Karan — add an extra ‘K’.

Crazy for votes
MONICA Bedi attracts problems. Or else she creates them. She had a major issue with Koena Mitra’s entry on the show when she did not know that Koena was not a contestant but a gimmick. She is insecure about other contestants getting votes because they are more popular. She is sore that contestants like Karan Grover and Parul Chauhan are getting votes in hordes because of their small screen popularity. Can they help it if they are more popular than Monica? And if her logic were true that they are surviving on votes alone then would Ram Kapoor have been eliminated? But this week she, along with her choreographer Javed Sanadi got a perfect score, not to mention a standing ovation from the judges. Hopefully, that should keep her from worrying for a while.

Twist in the tale
IT’S said that work romances are risky business; the same would apply to behind-the-scenes romances on TV shows as well. The chemistry between Jay Bhanushali and Saumya Tandon, the hosts of Dance India Dance,is quite noticeable. And just when the two were about to publicly profess their friendship, there was a twist in the story — judge Terrence Lewis. With Terrence finding the lovely Saumya irresistible on the sets,it did not take long for tongues to start wagging about the two being an item. While Saumya plays along,Jay feels terribly insecure and is extremely unhappy about being left out. Even the creative team has decided to cash in on the triangle by arranging a dance sequence between Jai and Saumya and introducing Terrence at the last moment,as the guy who gets the girl. Initially,Jay refused to play his part; but it seems he consented later. Now whether this is a genuine romance or a PR stunt, our guess is as good as yours.
