A day after four persons, including two policemen, were arrested for the abduction and murder of a woman, police said a chance discovery helped them solve the murder, which took place in November 2012.

Ghaziabad police said the arrests of Sub-Inspector Bachu Singh, his son Tarun, Constable Vinesh, one Amarpal and his wife Rashmi took place after they found a photograph of Rashmi, clicked by the murdered woman’s brother.

Ghaziabad police said that the key piece of evidence was recovered from the phone of Rashmi’s younger brother. “It was clicked at the murdered woman’s house by her younger brother. On the basis of this photograph, we conducted a series of searches until we were able to identify her,” Ghaziabad SP Muniraj G said.
