The contentious four-year undergraduate programme (FYUP) of Delhi University (DU), brought in by the UPA government and subsequently rolled back by the BJP government last year, will be a part of deliberations during the framing of the new national education policy.
“With regard to the four year course in any capacity… whether it will be allowed – this will be deliberated upon as part of the new education policy,” Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani said.

She was responding to a query during an interaction with students of Shri Ram College of Commerce.
Irani encouraged students to post their views on what the new policy should entail on http://www.mygov.in. “We genuinely believe in change. Give us your views, as the existing education policy is now 22 years old,” she said.
