A neighbour beat up a former Defence Ministry employee with a hockey stick in Southeast Delhi’s Hari Nagar Ashram area over a parking row. The incident was caught on CCTV camera.
Police said 65-year-old Puranchand Goswami fractured his left arm after being beaten up with a hockey stick by his neighbour, Keshav.
Goswami’s son Manoj was also injured in the scuffle that broke out around 10.30 am. Keshav has been arrested, police said.
“Keshav has fought with us over parking several times before. He would always insist on parking his car in front of our house, which made it difficult for us to drive our car in or out of the parking lot. However, he never removed his car. On Sunday, my son and I were standing outside our house when Keshav came and parked his car in front of our gate. When we requested him to park it further down, he lost his cool and started verbally abusing us. He then went inside his house. He and his uncle came out with hockey sticks and started beating us,” Goswami stated in the FIR.
Police registered a case under Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (wrongful restraint) of the IPC.
