A woman in Golf Link area of central Delhi has been allegedly thrashed by a traffic constable. In a video, head constable Satish Chand is seen thrashing the woman. The constable belongs to Tuglak road circle of the city.
Later appearing before the media, the woman alleged that the constable had demanded bribe accusing her of violating traffic rules and that she refused.
She alleged that her small child was also abused by the cop.
“My kids were with me. I didn’t give him (constable) money that is why he thrashed me. He attacked me with a stone, I am hurt on my hand and back,” she said.

The person who recorded the video of the thrashing, Kamal Kant, said, “The lady told me that the constable stopped her as she crossed red light and asked for Rs 200 as penalty. When she refused to pay penalty without a receipt, the constable beat her.”
Chand has already been suspended, said Delhi police commissioner BS Bassi. “The head constable has already been suspended. I have ordered the inquiry, criminal case has been registered in this case,” said Bassi.
