Cab driver shot dead, 15-year-old boy injured in road rage near Red Fort in Delhi

A 36-year-old cab driver was dragged out of his car and shot dead near Red Fort in Delhi early Monday morning, the police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Manoj Meena said at around 1.50 am, they received information from Lok Nayak Hospital that one Mohd. Shaqib, a resident of Zakir Nagar, was admitted after receiving gunshot wounds along with a 15-year-old boy. Shaqib later succumbed to injuries to his upper abdomen at the hospital, the police said.

The DCP stated that an altercation ensued after a WagonR cab hit an e-rickshaw around midnight near Kodia Pul while approaching the Chatta railway crossing. Two men allegedly dragged the driver out of the vehicle and assaulted him during the scuffle. The driver was able to catch hold of one of the attackers, said the police.
