Businessman Amitabh Jain Grief hangs heavy at businessman Amitabh Jain’s home in Gurgaon. On Thursday, a day after he died following a hit-and-run incident, family members and friends visited the house to bid him adieu.
Jain is survived by wife, Ritu Jain, chief conservator at the Parliament Museum in Delhi, a 29-year-old son working at an IT company in London, and a 25-year-old daughter who lives in Bengaluru.
After he received the news of his father’s death, Jain’s son rushed from London and reached Gurgaon by midnight. Unwilling to sum up his loss in words, the son said he just wanted to focus on his family for now.
Jain’s daughter, on the other hand, sought justice and said arrests should be made soon without delay. “Did the police share anything more yet,” she could be heard asking amid the mourning.
Jain had celebrated his 58th birthday on October 17. He and his wife were married for over 30 years.
Family members said he earlier ran a departmental store in Delhi’s Malka Ganj area, and also had a security and maintenance business.
Inspector Manoj Kumar of the DLF Phase-2 Police Station told The Indian Express that the police are close to catching the accused and hope to apprehend him by Friday.
