Bomb threats sent to Delhi Union of Journalists, IWPC; declared hoax

"We would like to inform you that an e-mail was received at Indian Women's Press Corps (IWPC) official mail ID at 4.57 am today stating that RDX-IED has been planted at the premises of IWPC & DUJ," IWPC in a statement noted.

The offices of the Indian Women Press Corps (IWPC) at Ashoka Road and the Delhi Union of Journalists (DUJ) located in the Connaught Place area received bomb threat emails on Saturday, police said.

“We would like to inform you that an e-mail was received at Indian Women’s Press Corps (IWPC) official mail ID at 4.57 am today stating that RDX-IED has been planted at the premises of IWPC & DUJ,” IWPC in a statement noted.

Bomb squad, fire tenders and dog squad responded promptly, and the threats were declared a hoax,

“We immediately informed the Delhi Police. The bomb squad and dog squad promptly visited our premises and conducted a thorough search of IWPC. The fire brigade also arrived. Following this, they stated that our premises were clear of any threat and were safe,” the IWPC’s statement added.
