Baby boy ‘strangled to death’ minutes after birth, mother arrested: Delhi Police
Police said the woman had told her partner about the pregnancy, but he refused to support her. Fearing social stigma, she allegedly committed the crime, they said.
Police said when the woman was questioned, she admitted that she had been working at the house since 2023. Police claimed the woman allegedly strangled her baby to death, minutes after giving birth to him.
According to the police, they were informed of the incident on July 28 after a garbage collector discovered the body in a white plastic bag outside a house. The collector informed the house owner, who, in turn, called the police.
“A crime team was dispatched. After inspecting the spot, the body was sent to the mortuary for a post-mortem examination. While making enquiries at the crime scene, it was found that a domestic help working at the said address had given birth to the baby,” said a senior police officer.
