BJP writes to poll officials, accuses AAP of ‘false promises’
BJP leader Vijay Jolly on Tuesday wrote to election officials against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, accusing the latter of trying to deliberately…cheat voters with false assurances that his party would pass the Jan Lokpal Bill by December if voted to power in Delhi.
Urging the office of the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer to serve a notice on Kejriwal for having allegedly violated the model code of conduct,Jolly said the AAP chief had made a promise which was not legally possible to fulfil in Delhi. Under the existing law,the Bill, which is being spoken about by Kejriwal and his companions, can in no manner be enacted by the Delhi Assembly. Clearing of the Bill falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of Parliament, Jolly said. AAP on its web page and elsewhere is highlighting the Lokpal Bill issue as a key agenda for the Assembly polls. They are bluffing, cheating, defrauding and making false promises to Delhi voters knowing fully well that Delhi Assembly cannot do so (pass the Bill), Jolly added.
BJP promises flats for slum-dwellers
The Delhi BJP on Tuesday said they would provide housing to slum-dwellers without uprooting them. The partys Delhi unit chief, who will start campaigning and a padyatra in Delhi from Wednesday, said the party had coined a slogan for jhuggis ‘Jahan Jhuggi,Wahin Makan’.
