With Lok Sabha polls around the corner, the BJP is trying to woo minorities, specifically Muslims, across the nation in Modi-style. The party unveiled an 11-minute video of Modi addressing various rallies where he compares Gujarat’s Muslim community with Muslims settled in other parts of the country, with special emphasis on Bimaru states, led by Bihar.

In the broadcast, Modi reiterates that his only mantra for the nation is development. Then a clip of his Patna rally appears with him saying: “Our Muslim brothers go for Haj every year. Each state in the country has a quota and Gujarat has a quota of 4,000 pilgrims while Bihar has a quota of 7,500 Muslims pilgrims. However, while Bihar gets applications from just 6,000 Muslims, Gujarat gets 40,000 applications. This is just because the Muslim community in Gujarat is prosperous unlike Bihar where they are poor and backward.”

The video was broadcast at 17 places in the city as part of the BJP’s attempt to reach out to Muslims. “This is the real vision of Narendra Modi that we are bringing out in front of minorities. This will help ensure that all negative propaganda being dished out by parties like Congress is dealt with,” said Delhi BJP minority cell president Atif Rashid, adding that the broadcast of these clips will continue in the days ahead.
