Senior BJP leader R P Singh has written to anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare and urged him to “reprimand his disciple”, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Citing various cases of alleged corruption against the AAP government in his letter, Singh wrote, “Annaji, it is time for you to act now. I beseech you to come to Delhi and make the clarion call for change and freedom from a corrupt and ineffective government, led by your disciple. Will you, now at least, come forward and once again repeat the lessons of morality and ideal public service you espoused so firmly, through your fasts and silent protests. Would you not stand up and reprimand Kejriwal to come clean and to practice what he learnt from you before the elections. Would you not publicly disassociate yourself from him.”
On why he decided to write to Hazare, R P Singh said, “The Chief Minister was part of the movement spearheaded by Hazare… we have communicated that he needs to take responsibility… as Delhi is suffering.”
Responding to Singh’s letter, AAP spokesperson Deepak Bajpai said, “Anna represents the fight against corrupt forces like the BJP to which R P Singh belongs… Anna has already expressed his opinion about the Modi government. There is nothing left to say.”
