Contrary to the their claims,police have found that the family of BSP leader Deepak Bhardwaj,who was shot dead in his farmhouse last month,invested in several properties in Delhi between 2011 and 2012.
Bhardwajs family had told police that the only property they owned was the Shiksha Bharati School in Dwarka and earned Rs 30,000 per month from it.
Investigators in the case are yet to give a clean chit to the family. Bhardwajs wife Ramesh Kumari and his elder son Hitesh have been asked not to leave the city till the investigations are complete.
Sources told Newsline that the family invested in properties in West Delhi and other areas. Sources said the family has purchased property in Khyala,Jhaitkra village in South Delhi and Uttam Nagar,in the form of plots and flats.
It is learnt that a most of these properties are registered in the name of Bhardwajs younger son Nitesh,who allegedly hired killers through his lawyer Baljeet Singh Sehrawat for his fathers murder.
Nitesh and Sehrawat have been arrested. Police questioned Ramesh Kumari for more than five hours on Saturday. They said her role in the conspiracy has not come forth.
Police said Sehrawat had sought Swami Pratibhanands help to hire the killers. Pratibhanand is evading arrest and police said he was last seen in Indore on April 7.
Pratibhanand,police said,has been changing his location frequently and has stopped contacting his associates. Police said he has changed his appearance since the Delhi Police released his photographs.
