“Prima facie, the deceased has an enlarged liver which ruptured during the incident...the accused juvenile and his uncle have been apprehended,” added the DCP. A 45-year-old man died after he was attacked while trying to intervene in a fight which involved his minor son in Southeast Delhi’s Okhla, police officers said. Police have detained another minor and his uncle in connection with the case.
Police said that at around 11 am Friday, a quarrel took place between two juveniles in Okhla’s Sanjay Colony.
Later, the family members of both the boys joined in the quarrel. It was alleged that the deceased, Haneef, received injuries during the scuffle and was rushed to the Safdarjung Hospital around noon. He died later in the evening.
“In the MLC, no apparent injury has been mentioned,” said DCP (Southeast) Rajesh Deo.
A case under IPC section 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) has been registered.
