At 38 degrees, Delhi records highest maximum temperature in April; light rain on the cards

The Capital may see the temperature rise to 39 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday, but light rainfall on Sunday and Monday is expected to bring respite, it said.

Weather stations at Pitampura and Faridabad saw the maximum temperature reach 39.1 degrees Celsius.
Tuesday’s minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 17.7 degrees Celsius — two degrees below the normal.
According to IMD officials, Delhi can expect a partly cloudy sky on Wednesday and the temperature is expected to remain between 38 and 19 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature usually crosses the 40-degree mark by the second week of April, said the IMD.
According to IMD data, the highest maximum temperature ever recorded in April was 45.6 degrees Celsius — on April 29, 1941.
