AroundTown: ‘Fugitive’ in attempt to murder case held

Police on Sunday arrested 25-year-old Sultan Ali,who has been on the run in an attempt to murder case.

NEW DELHI: Police on Sunday arrested 25-year-old Sultan Ali,who has been on the run in an attempt to murder case. The fugitive,a resident of Rohilla Ka Makan in Gurgaon district,was caught near Lal Masjid graveyard on Lodhi Road,police said. “A Dwarka court had declared Ali a proclaimed offender in July,” Additional CP (Southwest) A K Ojha said. Ali had shot at Muzamil Firdous in 2008 during an attempted robbery in Dwarka Sector-17,police said.

22-year-old found dead in Punjabi Bagh

NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old man was found dead on Monday morning in West Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh. Police said the family of Dharminder,who was from Neemkar in Rajasthan,claimed that he was a BTech student in Jamshedpur. “The body was found in the verandah between the boundary wall and main door of a house in Punjabi Bagh. The house belongs to a railway employee. He was not in Delhi. The house is locked,” Additional CP (West) V Renganathan said. The body bore external injury marks. On Sunday,he was seen with a girl in the neighbourhood,police said.
