Hot,humid weather persists in Delhi

New Delhi: Delhi residents experienced a hot and sultry Wednesday as rains continued to elude the national capital and the humidity level remained high. The maximum was recorded normal at 33.7 degrees,whereas the minimum stood a notch above normal at 26.5 degree Celsius,Met officials said. No rainfall was recorded in the city throughout the day and the humidity level oscillated between 60 and 71 per cent,they said. Delhi has been witnessing a humid weather for the past few days. On Tuesday also,the maximum was recorded three notches above normal at 35.5 degree Celsius. The MeT department has predicted a generally cloudy sky with possibility of very light rains or thundershowers in some areas tomorrow. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to oscillate between 34 and 26 degree Celsius.

Teenage girl commits suicide in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: A teenage girl committed suicide on Wednesday by setting herself ablaze in her maternal grandfather’s house in Kavinagar area of the district. The 18-year-old,who hailed from Muzaffarnagar district,succumbed to injuries while being taken to a hospital in Delhi,police said,adding that she sustained 90 per cent burns. Police also recovered a suicide note from her room,in which the girl said she regretted “some mistakes” of her life,and was committing suicide because of that,SHO (Kavinagar) Vinod Sirohi said.
