Tiz Hazari lawyers to strike work today

Lawyers at the Tis Hazari courts will strike work on Wednesday against a hike in electricity tariff rates for the Lawyers Chambers by the Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL). In a press release issued by the Delhi Bar Association (DBA) on Tuesday,the lawyers’ body said the TPDDL had “unilaterally and without any notice to lawyers (consumers) had changed the electricity tariff of the Lawyers Chambers at Tis Hazari courts from domestic to non-domestic.”

Kashmere Gate ISBT to have solar panels

The Delhi Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation

Limited (DTIDC) on Tuesday announced that it would set up a 130 KW capacity grid connected to a solar project on the roof of ISBT,Kashmere Gate. Senior DTIDC officials said the project is estimated to produce 2 lakh units of solar power a year. “Its successful implementation will generate green energy and lead to savings on power bills,” Commissioner (Transport) Puneet Goel said. The scheme is a pilot project by Solar Energy Corporation of India. The project will be completed in about 6 months,officials said.
