DTC driver shot at,cops hunt for trio

NEW DELHI: A 26-year-old man was shot at by three persons in the wee hours of Saturday in Outer Delhi. Police,who suspect that the motive was personal enmity,are trying to nab the accused. According to police,the incident happened around 6 am in Rama Vihar area of Begumpur,Outer Delhi,while Vijay Kumar was going for work. “Two youths and a 20-year-old woman came along on a motorcycle and shot at Kumar. He was injured in the stomach. He is said to be out of danger now,” a police officer said.

Three questioned over rape attempt

NEW DELHI: Police on Saturday detained three men in connection with an alleged rape attempt on a 20-year-old college student in Outer Delhi. The incident occurred at Begumpur on Friday night,when the woman had gone to meet a friend. “However,he had gone out with another person when the woman arrived. The third friend allegedly tried to rape her. Panicked,the girl jumped off the terrace and sustained minor injuries,” said DCP (Outer) B S Jaiswal. No complaint was filed.

Fog delays 70 trains,200 flights

NEW DELHI: Nearly 70 trains and 200 flights were delayed due to fog at the Airport on Saturday,causing inconvenience to commuters. As many as 30 trains coming from various parts of the country were running late by several hours. At the IGI Airport,near zero visibility conditions lasted till 6.30 am,causing both the runways to shut temporarily.
