Delhi Daredevils cricketer allowed to write exam

New Delhi: Unmukt Chand,a Delhi cricketer who has represented India in Under-19 tournament as a skipper and is also in IPL’s Delhi Daredevils’ team,received a respite from the Delhi High Court on Tuesday,as it allowed him to sit for his BA first-year examinations at St Stephen’s College. Chand was not allowed to appear for the exams due to attendance shortage.

DU: Guidelines for ECA admissions soon

NEW DELHI: For the first time,Delhi University will come out with guidelines for admissions to extra curricular activities seats this year. These will be released with fresh norms for sports admissions by the end of this week. Also,DU will soon release a list of post offices and selected colleges where sale of pre-admission forms will begin from June 4.

DDA plans new unit for unsafe buildings

NEW DELHI: After suggestions from Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna,the DDA has decided to create a separate unit to address the issues of unsafe buildings under its jurisdiction. It has been asked to work out systems for retrofitting or rebuilding of buildings considered not very safe.

Body of 30-yr-old woman found

NEW DELHI: The naked body of a 30-year-old woman was found near an electric grid in Northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area on Tuesday morning. Police have identified the woman and are on the lookout for her husband,a labourer who has been absconding since last night. The woman had injuries on her head and face.

Two held for murder

New Delhi: Two persons have been arrested for their involvement in the murder of a rickshaw-puller. Nanhu and Vikas,both 30,were arrested for the murder of Saket Singh (38) on May 10. Additional CP (Northeast) V V Choudhary said: “They produced themselves as eunuchs to lure people for sex for money. During sex,they robbed them near Tahirpur road.”

Woman killed by son over property

NEW DELHI: A 60-year-old woman was shot dead allegedly by her son over a property dispute on Tuesday. The incident was reported from New Usmanpur,Northeast Delhi. The victim’s son,Ramesh Kumar,has been arrested,police said.
