Four armed robbers barged into the house of a retired government employee,held the family members hostage at knife point before decamping with cash and jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh.
The incident was reported in Dwarka Sector-8 on Sunday,when J P Nayak (63) and his family were asleep. The victim told police that one of the robbers pointed a knife at his head and threatened to kill his wife if he raised an alarm.
The miscreants were in the house for almost four hours. They fled with Rs 1 lakh and jewellery worth around Rs 4 lakh, the police officer said.
Based on the victims statement,a case has been registered under Sections 458,394,397 and 34 of the IPC at the Dwarka (South) police station of Southwest Delhi.
