The annual debating festival at the Sri Ram College of Commerce,Delhi University,will test the skills of the speakers with various competitions lined up during the four-day event.
Four competitions,including parliamentary debate,group discussion,turncoat contest and the conventional debate,will be held in the college from February 10 to 13.
The final of the Ernst and Young Shri Ram debating festival,the most prestigious debating event in the Delhi University,will be held on February 12. Ram Sarvepalli,partner,Ernst & Young,and Vidya Shankar Aiyar,senior editor,CNN IBN,will be the judges during the contest.
In the turncoat contest,to be held on the February 13,participants will first propose and then oppose the motion.
Teams from over 50 colleges from across the country,including the National Law School of India,Bangalore,St Stephens College and IIT Delhi,will participate in the festival.
As a special event,an informal discussion will be held on February 11 in which Kapil Arora,partner,Ernst & Young,will speak on The current Global Crisis and what it holds for the Future.
