In a purported CCTV footage from Delhi, fugitive Amritpal Singh and his aide are seen walking on the streets. It is suspected that the video is from East Delhi’s Patparganj, Madhu Vihar or Sai Chowk area. However, senior police officers from the district denied rumours of Amritpal’s presence in their area.

The pro-Khalistan preacher and head of Waris Punjab De has been on the run since March 18. Several security agencies are chasing him and trying to trace his location.

The Indian Express reported Amritpal and his aide Papalpreet Singh are suspected to have reached Nepal and are hiding there. The police have contacted local police in Kathmandu and asked them to keep a track of their movement and not allow them to flee to another country.

Meanwhile, a fresh CCTV footage, dated March 21, suggests Amritpal and his aide were in Delhi. A man who looks like Amritpal is seen in a different look with his hair hanging loose on the shoulder, no turban and face covered with a mask. The man is wearing a jacket and glasses and is walking ahead of another man who is wearing a turban, glasses and mask.

A senior police officer from the East district, who refused to be named, said, “We have not received any information about Amritpal or his aide. We can’t confirm if he was in the area. We are verifying the video.”
