A Delhi-Paris Air India flight scheduled for Tuesday was cancelled after mandatory pre-flight checks identified a technical issue, the airline said, adding that a technical team was addressing the matter.

Air India opted to cancel the flight as it was unable to delay the flight owing to night operation restrictions at Paris’s Charles de Gaulle Airport. “Flight AI143 from Delhi to Paris of 17 June has been cancelled. The mandatory pre-flight checks identified an issue which is being presently addressed. However, in view of the flight coming under the restrictions on night operations at Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) airport, the said flight has been cancelled,” an Air India spokesperson said in the statement.

Flight AI143 was to depart from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport for Paris at 1.15 pm and reach its destination at 7.15 pm.

“We regret the inconvenience caused to our passengers and are making alternative arrangements to fly them to their destination at the earliest,” said the Air India spokesperson. The airline further said it would provide hotel accommodation to affected passengers, along with the option of either a full refund or complimentary rescheduling.

“Consequently, flight AI142 from Paris to Delhi on June 18, 2025, also stands cancelled,” the spokesperson added.

The development comes amid a slew of cancellations and disruptions experienced by airlines. On Monday, An Air India flight headed to Delhi had to return to Hong Kong because of a technical issue. The flight, AI315, was a Boeing 788. On the same day, an Air India Express flight bound for Ranchi returned to Delhi airport owing to a suspected technical issue.
