Ghaziabad District Magistrate S V S Rangarao was on Tuesday transferred — two days after the Combined Pre-Medical Test (CPMT-2014) was cancelled on suspicion of paper leak.
The DM, who had inspected the two boxes of question papers kept in separate banks in Ghaziabad, had declared they had been tampered with.
The officials of King George Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, which conducts the examination, blamed the DM for confirming the tampering without establishing the paper leak.
Rangarao has been sent to Agriculture Production Commissioner as special secretary.
He was unavailable for comment despite repeated attempts to contact him.
