During their visits to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, the AAP leaders played the communal card.

The All India Imams Organisation on Thursday accused the AAP of trying to woo Muslims by “playing the communal card” without taking up the community’s issues.

“During their visits to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, the AAP leaders played the communal card. They are trying to exploit Muslims emotionally,” Mufti Shamoon Kazmi, general secretary of the All India Imams Organisation, said.

“He (Kejriwal) is trying to position himself as the alternative to Narendra Modi so that he gets Muslim votes… What is the difference between him and the others?” Kazmi said, adding that the party did not seem concerned about the welfare of Muslims and lacked any agenda for the community.
