I was shocked. I did not expect to get such high marks, says Kshitij,who apart from being among the toppers in the city also holds 402 rank in IIT-JEE. He wants to pursue computer engineering from IIT-Delhi. He says he did not follow a fixed schedule for studying for the exams and concentrated on one topic at a time. His father,Manoj Jain,says he is feeling on top of the world as his dream has come true.
Humanities (Springdales School,Pusa Road)
Riya says she enjoyed studying and is happy to score full marks in two subjects psychology and political science. She gives credit to her school teachers for their support.My family also always encouraged me to read, she says. Riya wants to pursue English literature from Delhi University and aspires to be a writer.
Her mother,Sumitra Sharma,teaches English literature at Shyamlal Anand College. She says she expected her daughter to do well. We have always been supportive of our daughters decisions. We never objected to her choice of humanities in Class XI,despite getting high marks in Class X, says her father Sanjay Kumar Sharma.
Commerce (St Michaels School,Pusa Road)
I didnt have any fixed strategy (for studies) and my routine varied on a daily basis, says Himanshi. Her mother,Ruby Khetri,attributes Himanshis success to hard work and the support of her school teachers. Himanshi is yet to decide where she wants to enroll for further studies. Till now,we were waiting for the results. We will look at courses according to her score now, says Ruby.
