5-yr-old dies as BMW coming from wrong side hits scooter in Noida; father and uncle critical
The accident occurred after the victims were returning from PGI hospital in Noida's Sector 30.

(Photo: Screengrab from X/@ANI)A five-year-old girl died and her father and uncle sustained critical injuries after a speeding BMW, being driven on the wrong side, hit their scooter in Noida’s Sector 30 on Saturday night, police said.
The accused, identified as Yash Sharma (22), a resident of Sector 37, and his co-passenger Abhishek Rawat (22), have been arrested. Both stay in Sector 70.
Both are students, police said, adding that the BMW bearing a Haryana registration number has been impounded.
According to the FIR, the accident took place near Gate 3 of Post Graduate Institute of Child Health in Sector 30.
Gul Mohammad and his brother-in-law Raja, residents of Sadarpur Khajoor colony near Sector 45, were returning home after taking Ayat, Gul’s sick daughter, to the hospital.
The police said the rashly driven BMW rammed into the two-wheeler, throwing all three passengers off the vehicle. While Ayat succumbed to injuries, the two men were admitted to hospitals in a critical condition.
The police said the two accused made an attempt to flee the spot but were arrested shortly after pedestrians informed the authorities.
Assistant Police Commissioner Praveen Kumar Singh said that preliminary investigation has revealed the two accused were returning from a birthday celebration when the incident occurred.
“They two had attended a birthday party before the crash. As part of the investigation, they are being subjected to a medical examination to ascertain whether they were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident,” he added.
The police said the car was found to be registered in the name of one Gagan. Yash Sharma, who deals in used cars, had borrowed it from Gagan a week ago, said an officer.
A case has been registered at the Sector 20 police station under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections of causing death by negligence and rash driving on a public road.
