3 more held in hooch case

The Crime Branch has arrested three more persons for supplying spurious liquor that led to more than 30 deaths in Raghubir Nagar and Dabri over the past two months.

Gautam alias Cheeku (36),his wife Maya (35),and mother Manjeet Kaur (55) were arrested on Tuesday from Sultanpuri following a tip-off,the police said. Five others were earlier arrested in connection with supplying spurious liquor.

The police said Gautam has been involved in 12 cases in the past,Maya in 11 cases and Kaur in 10 cases of Arms Act and Excise Act.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Satyendra Garg said the trio was responsible for the supply of spurious liquor in Dabri,Khyala and Rajouri Garden areas. He said the police are now hunting for manufacturers of the illicit liquor.
