Three persons, including yet another Delhi Police constable, were arrested by the Special Cell for illegally accessing call detail records (CDR) of a city lawyer. The accused have been identified as constable Lalit, private detective Chandrashekhar and businessman Akash Jain. In the last three days, police have arrested five Delhi Police personnel in connection with the case. Police claimed that Chandrashekhar did not appear to have links to other detectives and policemen arrested in the case, including main accused Anurag Singh. Police said a lawyer had filed a complaint with the Special Cell in September, alleging that his call records had been illegally accessed. “In the past two months,we found that constable Lalit, attached with the ACP’s office, misused the email ID to get call details,” a police officer said.

Investigation has revealed that Lalit accessed the CDRs for Chandrashekhar, who owns a detective agency in East Delhi. Chandrashekhar allegedly told police that the CDRs were sought for businessman Akash Jain. Police claimed that Chandrashekhar paid Lalit around Rs 2,000 to get the CDRs.
