25-year-old arrested for murder in East Delhi

The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested one person and claimed to have solved a case of murder and robbery committed on June 6 in Jheel Park area of East Delhi.

The Delhi Police on Saturday arrested one person and claimed to have solved a case of murder and robbery committed on June 6 in Jheel Park area of East Delhi. Police have registered a case of murder against Deepak Banwari,25 at the Welcome police station.

No eyewitness had been found at the spot of the murder. The victim,Rajeev,who had been stabbed by the accused,succumbed to injuries the next day without giving a statement to the police. The police questioned known criminals in the area and found that Deepak was involved in similar crimes earlier. “On sustained interrogation,he confessed that he wanted to rob Rajeev,but when he resisted,he (Deepak) stabbed him,” the police said. Deepak used to collect money through extortion and was involved in robberies earlier.
