A 22-year-old BPO executive has alleged that her employer raped her on several occasions, tortured and harassed her on the pretext of marriage.
The woman alleged that her employer, who had hired her last year, also shot a pornographic video and threatened to post it on the internet if she lodged a police complaint.
In a statement to police, the woman alleged that she was raped in a hotel room on her first official visit to Delhi. She said her boss had been calling her and sent her messages frequently.
“In February last year, he called me to Delhi on an official visit and made arrangements at a hotel in Hari Nagar. He came to my room to ask me if I was comfortable and also ordered coffee. After I drank the coffee I started to feel giddy. Then he forced himself upon me. I tried to resist, but I was in a semi-conscious state and could not do much,” she said.
The woman told police that when she confronted her boss the next day, he apologised and said that he loved her and wanted to marry her. “I told him I was going to approach police, but he begged me not to. He told me that he loved me and intended to marry me. After that he also made me meet his relatives and friends along with numerologists to plan a wedding,” she said.
The woman further alleged that whenever she went with the man on business trips, he used to force her to share a room with him.
“He used to force me to get physical with him and always said he wanted to marry me,” she said.
The woman alleged after a few trips, the man began ignoring her. “During a trip to Kerala last year, I was staying with him in a room, and he forced himself on me again. When I spurned his advances, he assaulted me and showed me the pornographic video.
He told me that he would upload the video on the internet if I did not succumb to his demands. He then forcefully shot a few more videos of me in Jaipur,” the woman alleged.
The woman alleged that the accused later told her that he did not want to be with her and that she should return to her native place.
“He told me that he had done this to many women and that he would pay Rs 1 crore to get rid of me. I have saved conversations on WhatsApp and Viber to support my side of the story,” the woman said.
Police have registered a case of rape and criminal intimidation against the accused.
Investigation in the matter is on, police said.
