Two men were allegedly killed by a gang of four in Outer Delhi’s Ranhola area last Sunday in a case of mistaken identity after the accused wanted to take revenge over a robbery.

According to the Delhi Police, they have arrested the four accused in the case.

Jimmy Chiram, DCP (Outer), said they received a PCR call on March 17 regarding two men with stab injuries. One of the injured men was shifted to a hospital and was later declared dead. The deceased was identified as Mukesh, 33, while another deceased was identified as Rajesh Kumar Yadav, 25.

Subsequently, a police team was deployed and information about the accused was gathered through CCTV footage. Eventually, four accused — Gaurav alias Gauri, Keshri Pandey, Sandesh, and Gaurav — were apprehended.

After being interrogated, the accused told the police one of their friends Puneet was robbed by Anand, Mohit alias Murga, and others near Nala Jai Vihar on March 15 at around 8 pm. To take revenge, they began looking for Anand and his associates.

The accused said they came to know that the associates of Anand and Mohit were consuming alcohol on March 17 behind the boundary wall of Nala Jai Vihar near Machhi market in Harphool Vihar. The accused reached there on two motorcycles and attacked the deceased and their friends with knives and lathis.
