Techie found dead in house,police suspect she killed self

A 34-year-old software engineer is suspected to burnt herself to death in her rented house in K R Puram Saturday.

A 34-year-old software engineer is suspected to burnt herself to death in her rented house in K R Puram Saturday.

Vidya Chattinatha Iyer of Chennai worked out of home for Triple Point Technology,Pune. Iyer’s body was discovered Saturday morning when her landlord Prasanna went to her flat. But the flat was locked and there was a foul smell emanating from it,so Prasanna called the police. Her body had decomposed,indicating that she had died a few days earlier.

The police said Iyer was unmarried and had been staying in K R Puram for three years. But she had little contact with people in her neighborhood.

The police are trying to locate her relatives in Chennai to find out why she might have killed herself.
