Three persons,all sons of police personnel,allegedly attacked two girls involved in an accident outside a police station here Wednesday night. They were arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
The three were arrested last night (under IPC sections 323,341,509 and 354) for allegedly assaulting two girls and the mother of one of them. They have been sent to judicial custody, said Joint Police Commissioner B K Singh.
Chandan,23,and Chakravarthi Patel,20,are sons of an assistant sub-inspector and Nayana,19,is the son of a head constable with City Armed Reserve.
The three stay in Adugodi police quarters,Singh said,adding that Chandan and Chakravarthi were college students while Nayana was employed with a private firm.
A van hit the car of the girls. The girls stopped and were arguing with the van driver,when two of the accused standing nearby passed lewd remarks at them. When the girls protested,one of the accused attacked them, Singh said.
The accused also allegedly attacked the mother of one of the girls who had come to the Audugodi traffic police station,he said.
DCP (south) reprimanded traffic police for not preventing the assault.
