Shop owner robbed; Bakery employee commits suicide

Gangaraju tried to help his employer but the robbers fled with Rs 30,000 and a mobile phone.

Bangalore: The owner of a provision store on Kamaraj Road near Commercial Street and his employee were mugged Wednesday night. V Mohan Kumar (20) of Doopanahalli,Indiranagar,and his employee Gangaraju were about to shut shop at 9.50 pm when three people sought biscuits and Boost. When Gangaraju returned with the items from inside the shop,he found the miscreants attacking Mohan with a lethal weapon. Gangaraju tried to help his employer but the trio attacked him as well and fled with Rs 30,000 and a mobile phone.

Bakery employee commits suicide

Bangalore: A 24-year-old bakery employee from Kerala allegedly hanged himself in his rented house in Doddabommasandra near Vidyaranyapura Thursday. The police said Pranesh had come to the city a week ago and taken up the job. The Vidyaranyapura police found a suicide note that says no one should be held responsible for the unnatural death.

Pedestrian killed by speeding car

Bangalore: A 45-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a speeding car at Bhattarahalli near KR Puram at around 7.45 pm Wednesday. The car was coming to the city from Hoskote. KR Puram traffic police registered a case based on a complaint filed by eyewitness Dilip Kumar.
