Jaishankar unfit for quizzing,in hospital

Sent to police custody but transferred to judicial custody as docs say he’s unwell

Alleged serial rapist and murderer Jaishankar,who was rearrested after his escape from prison on September 1,was produced in the court of the 9th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Saturday. He was remanded in police custody but was later transferred to judicial custody after doctors found him ufit to undergo interrogation.

“Jaishankar who was arrested Friday was produced in a court,which sent him to police custody for 10 days. But the doctors who examined his health said he was not fit for police interrogation,” joint commissioner of police for law and order B K Singh said.

“We again produced him in court,which then deferred his police custody and remanded him in judicial custody,” Singh added.

Jaishankar was then admitted in hospital to get treated for injuries his soles,swollen ankles and back pain,Singh said. “We will take him into police custody soon after he recovers. We wanted to interrogate him to get answers to a lot of questions about his escape,his contacts and other details,” he added.
