THE ZIRAKPUR police have registered a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust against three builders for allegedly duping a serving Lieutenant Colonel in connection with the sale of a flat. The accused are said to be at large.

Lt. Colonel Sandeep Singh Yadav, who is posted at Delhi Cantonment, wanted to buy a three BHK flat at Aero Homes in Zirakpur. The complainant stated that he gave Rs 51 lakh to the owners of Aero homes, a private housing project. But, when he tried to get the flat registered in his name, he came to know that the builders had already mortgaged the land of the project to banks and the flats could not be registered in the name of buyers.

So, the complainant approached the police and lodged a complaint with the SSP’s office. An inquiry was conducted by SP(D) following which a case under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) was registered against Nitin Bansal and his partners Harpreet Singh and Vishal Mehta.
