Youth try to kidnap property dealer,flee with Rs 1 lakh

Nearly half-a-dozen unidentified people allegedly tried to kidnap a city-based property dealer in Sector 5 on Thursday morning.

Nearly half-a-dozen unidentified people allegedly tried to kidnap a city-based property dealer in Sector 5 on Thursday morning. Police have started investigations and said that Nitin Sharma,a Sector 7 resident was retuning from Sector 2 petrol pump in his car when he was forced to stop by two cars that over took him near Indradhanush Auditorium at around 9.20 am.

“When Nitin stopped the car,a group of youth (some of them had their faces covered) came out of their cars and took his car keys. They forced him to come out of the car and tried to kidnap him. He resisted and started shouting,which attracted the attention of a few youngsters who were playing cricket in the nearby ground. The kidnappers became nervous. In the scuffle,Rs 1 lakh fell from Nitin’s pocket,which they took away before fleeing,” said Station House Officer of Sector 5 police station,Ajay Rana.

Nitin immediately called the police and informed them about the incident. A case was later registered in Sector 5 police station,under Sections 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment) of IPC against unknown persons.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime),Dheeraj Setya said that the police are investigating the case. “Nitin mentioned the vehicle number of one of the cars but it turned out to be a fake. We will continue our investigations to nab the culprits.”
