Woman alleges gangrape,case filed

A 27-year-old married woman alleged that she was gangraped by six persons in a Sector 20 house on the intervening night of May 7 and 8.

A 27-year-old married woman alleged that she was gangraped by six persons in a Sector 20 house on the intervening night of May 7 and 8. Police have booked a woman resident of Sector 45 and unidentified men.

According to police,the victim,a resident of Burail,where she was residing with her husband,had lodged a complaint with them on Wednesday.

She had alleged that a few days back she had some altercation with her husband after which she had gone to Savita,who is her neighbour.

She alleged that Savita allegedly told her to go with a youth sitting in her (Savita’s) house,and she agreed. The accused,she claimed,was not known to her. He took her to an unidentified place where five more men were present. She accused the men of raping her.

The victim claimed that she managed to escape during the night and from there walked upto ISBT 17,where with someone’s help managed to call up her husband. After her husband arrived,the duo went to lodge a complaint at the Sector 22 Police Post from where she was referred to Sector 19 police station.

The victim claimed that the house was situated next to a mosque.

A case of gangrape has been registered on the statement of the victim. The medical examination of the victim was also conducted at GMCH-16.
