Reiterating his allegation of political vendetta against the state government, former chief minister Amarinder Singh on Monday said it had registered false cases against Congress workers and vowed to take to task police officials committing excesses if voted to power.

Amarinder, who was here to meet Congress workers who had allegedly fallen victims to “police atrocities”,said if voted to power, the party would constitute a high-powered commission to review the cases against Congress workers. “I assure you that if things do not stop here, not only a high-powered commission will be constituted to look into the role of such cops, but Article 311 of the Constitution will also be invoked to dismiss from service those found guilty of committing excesses on innocents,” he added.
